Reading the matrix

What is a SIP?
Systematic Investment Plan — a fixed amount invested every month in a mutual fund. It averages your purchase cost across market cycles and removes the pressure of timing the market.
What return rate should I use for the projection?
Historically, Indian equity mutual funds have delivered 12–14 % CAGR over long horizons; balanced hybrid funds around 10–11 %; debt funds 6–8 %. These are historical, not guaranteed. The 5×5 matrix lets you see the range of outcomes rather than fixating on one number.
What’s a "monthly rate" and why not just divide by 12?
Because compounding is non-linear. The equivalent monthly rate is the 12th root of (1 + annual rate), minus 1. For 12 % annual, the true monthly rate is 0.9489 %, not 1 %. We use the mathematically correct version so the projection matches Excel to the rupee.
Are the output figures tax-adjusted?
No — these are pre-tax, pre-exit-load future values. For a full after-tax plan around your specific situation, book a discovery call.
